Synoptic Chart
A Low pressure over the Coral sea. Another Low Northwest of Vanuatu group with a trough over the group. A high pressure over the Australian Bight.

 

Satellite Images
Based on the latest (IR) satellite imagery, which includes a six-hour loop indicates few, scattered, broken to overcast low to high-level clouds over Vanuatu group. Few CB's are evident over the group. Latest METAR and Synoptic observations correlate with the current satellite imagery.

 

Models
The trough mentioned above will merge with another trough associated with a Low pressure over west of New Caledonia later today. It will maintain Trough over Vanuatu group till mid of next week. As such convective actions will be eminent over the group. A high pressure currently over south Australia will reach the Tasman Sea by Monday next week and will move pass New Zealand on Thursday next week, as such the Low pressure over New Caledonia will track further Southeastward. An intense High pressure will be expected next weekend over south of Australia maintaining a ridge over Vanuatu group.

 

Outlook for the next 7 days
Cloudy, showers and rain, heavy at times, with thunder chances over Vanuatu group.
A severe weather warning for heavy Rainfall is issued for SANMA, PENAMA, MALAMPA , SHEFA & TAFEA province.Monday: Rain & Showers remaining over Central and Southern Islands, however easing throughout the day, partly cloudy with possible brief showers is expected elsewhere.

Tuesday: Isolated showers over Southern and part of Central Islands, elsewhere partly cloudy with possible brief showers.

Wednesday: Showers remain over the southern islands while partly cloudy to fine weather with passing light showers expected elsewhere.

Thursday and Friday: Partly cloudy to fine weather over the group with possible brief showers expected over parts of the Northern islands.

Saturday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with brief showers over the Northern islands while partly cloudy to fine weather expected elsewhere.Light to Moderate Northerly & NE winds expected throughout the group.Maximum temperatures for today range from 28°C down south to 34°C up north.
Minimum temperatures for tonight range from 22°C down south to 26°C up north.
