About Us

The Vanuatu Geohazards Observatory (VGO) is the official source of geological hazards within the Department of Meteorology and Geohazards (VMGD) in the Ministry of Climate Change Adaptation, Meteorology, Energy, Environment and Disaster Management.The VGO aims to understand and monitor volcanic and seismic activity in Vanuatu for people safety and security and also to mitigate against potential impacts of geological hazards (earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions) by preventing disastrous consequences on the people, environment and economy of Vanuatu.  

Location :

The Geohazards observatory office is located in the Department of Meteorology and Geohazards building complexe at the numbatu area, Lini Hight way at the 1st  floor.
